Whether the Full-Time BLP, summer BLP-Internship, or BLP-Sophomore Externship, our early career development programs are designed to accelerate the careers of tomorrow’s leaders. Our goal is to help our participants build deep field, company, and industry expertise through immersive, hands-on experiences.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL EXPERIENCE
A critical skillset of a leader is broad knowledge about the business. In BLP, Cross-Functional Experience gives you insight into the other functional areas beyond your Track, helping you understand how you are connected to the rest of the business.
TECHNOLOGY TREK
Our leaders need fluency in how technology ignites the future of business—so we’re going to teach it to you. In this intensive 1-week Tech Trek, you’ll learn the fundamentals of different technical skill sets and methodologies (like Agile Project Management, programming, and design skills) that you’ll need on your path to success.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
Complete a three-week community service and experiential learning project with one of our non-profit partners. You’ll put your BLP skills to work to create a sustainable, long-lasting solution that impacts our partner organization, and our community.
BLP COMMITTEES
From Day 1 as a BLP, you’ll have the opportunity to join our cross-track committees focused on peer development, community service, BLP events, recruiting, and social activities. As an intern or extern, you’ll engage with the committees as they run the various experiences you engage in.
IMMERSIVE ORIENTATION
The BLP-Internship begins with our exclusive three-day conference for new interns. During this interactive event, you’ll meet leaders from across Synchrony, learn about our business and customers and meet and engage with your other incoming participants from across the country.
POST-INTERNSHIP
Think of the BLP-Internship as a 10-week interactive interview. Engage with your team and leadership and show us your skills — you may be invited to join the full-time program! Â

Sync-Up
Before you even leave campus, we’ll invite you to a three-day, exclusive kick-off event for new BLPs and BLP-Interns so you’re ready to hit the ground running. You’ll also learn about your location and project assignment.
Intern Orientation & BLP Symposium
We bring each BLP-Intern class together again for an in-person, multi-day orientation starting on day one of your internship. For our full-timers, your orientation is part of what we call BLP Symposium, where you join the two classes above you for programming and networking above and beyond your orientation sessions.
Industry-Renowned Training
Our training isn’t about stuffing a bunch of facts and processes into your brain and quizzing you on them. Instead, we focus on developing how you think, collaborate and lead.
Your Circle of Support
From your assignment leader (manager), team, and all the way through to executive leaders across Synchrony, you’ll have a network of supporters who will help you learn about the business and our customers, as you engage with all of your peers and BLP Alumni along the way.

Your assignments, supplemental learning and development experiences, networking opportunities with leaders and within the community provide a foundation for continuous growth within Synchrony as a future leader. We are reshaping our learning curriculum to ensure you develop skillsets that will be important in today’s remote/hybrid working environment. Your assignment leaders will work with you throughout your internship and rotation to provide ongoing feedback and development tips and during multiple intentional performance check ins.

WHERE DO YOU <BE>LONG
Begin your journey with Synchrony by applying to one of 10 functional BLP tracks. Your track will be your area of focus throughout the BLP. We will help you pursue your passions and grow your skills through our impressive experiences.
4-DAY EXTERNSHIP
Ready to show yourself what’s possible at the end of your sophomore year? We’ve got a four-day immersive program that will totally engage you into Synchrony’s business and the credit services and payments industry. You’ll learn a lot, including about our innovative approach to customer engagement. This BLP-Sophomore Externship is designed specifically for rising juniors. This interactive and engaging experience is filled with executive networking, senior leader Q&A, cases studies, community service and much more! The BLP-Sophomore Externship is an outstanding opportunity for you to build your network and your resum‌é all while having some fun along the way!

ELIGIBILITY
Must be an undergraduate student, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, enrolled in an accredited college or university and have completed your sophomore year, by start of externship (i.e. rising junior at time of externship)
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. both now and in the future
